Gaining My Footing

I'm slowly getting back on top of everything and I'm feeling much more relieved. This weekend I got a couple of big projects out of the way including the Progressions blog I've been writing. My blog was centered around Hispanic heritage month and talked about how PRSSA chapters can learn about and connect with the Hispanic community on their campus. Before I submitted the blog, I had my boss look over it and it was actually the least number of critiques that I've ever gotten from him.

Speaking of bosses, I'm getting ready to start a "new" job next week. My internship will be ending soon so I figured it would be a good time to line something up. I say "new" job because I'm going to start working for my dad by taking over an office position of someone that's getting ready to retire. I'm going to start going in about four hours a week and learning the ropes and then I'll get more involved over breaks. I'm a little nervous to work so close to my family for such a long period but it's not for forever so I'm sure I'll survive.

What I might not survive is this weekend. Between a career fair, a concert and homecoming festivities I will be taking a long nap on Sunday. I didn't participate in Homecoming much last year, so I don't know if I'm excited or scared for this weekend. I know for sure I am a little nervous for the concert because I have a solo. I haven't had one yet in college and while I am excited, I know there's a higher expectation, so I'm just scared I'll mess up.

Next week I don't have much else besides work going on so I'm happy to have some time to relax during the week. I do have my first hall program as a RA on Monday but I'm not expecting many people to show up. The weeks have been going fast but also not fast enough because it still feels like forever until ICON and Thanksgiving break.
