It's hard to believe we're already 2/3 of the way through the semester! I finally feel like I have a good handle on my course work and I'm getting used to the flow of things. However, I cannot wait for the Multicultural Fair to be over. Planning has been an absolute nightmare and I've been saddled with some responsibilities I should not have. I was on the fence about being involved with the organization next year already and these past couple of weeks have made my answer a solid "no." I think the best option is for me to get all of the information and resources for my position organized to the best of my ability and then to do my job and only my job until my term is up.
Other than the planning sessions from hell, I get to schedule Friday which I'm happy about. Next semester, I'll be done by 1:00 p.m. at the latest and I don't start before 9:00 a.m. each day. On top of this, I'm only worried about two classes next semester so fingers crossed the rest are easy. I do have to double up on practicum, but as long as I manage my schedule well, I don't think it will be the end of the world.
I've had a few fun things this past week too. I saw "Ride the Cyclone" twice and it was absolutely amazing! I got to see both casts perform, and I loved the subtle differences in the character interpretations. Also, a huge shoutout to Katja for some outstanding choreography! It was such an awesome show. Saturday, our choir performed for the Sons of the American Revolution, and we performed one of my favorite arrangements of the Star-Spangled Banner. Most recently, Tuesday I helped out with Trunk or Treat. It was a Residence Life event, and the Lima Complex staff decided to go as musicians. Funnily enough, four of us went as country artists but there was some variety with the rest of the staff. My personal opinion is the DJ Khaled and Pitbull costumes were the best.
Not too much for the week ahead but I'm sure something will come up to make the next few days interesting.
I wish I felt the same about my course load! I feel like when it's not one thing, it's another. But I'm glad to hear you're figuring it out. I'm sure all of your planning for the multi cultural fair will pay off, good luck with the rest of the semester!
